This award may be given to five active ETT members who have provided outstanding leadership at the Local level during the 09/10 year. A cash award of $200.00 shall be given to each recipient of this award. A Teacher may be the recipient of this award once during his or her career. The recipients of the Union Steward Award shall be recognized at the Annual Dinner.
Nomination Form for the New Teacher Award
This award may be given to one active ETT members who is within his/her first five years of teaching. A cash award of $200.00 shall be given to the recipient of this award. A Teacher may be the recipient of this award once during his or her career. The recipient of the New Teacher Award shall be recognized at the Annual Dinner.
Nomination Form for the Jeanne Milovanovic Early Literacy Award
As Superintendent of Administrative Services for the former Scarborough Board of Education, Jeanne Milovanovic was instrumental in establishing the Canadian Institute of Reading Recovery. A cash award of $200.00 shall be given to the recipient of this award. A teacher may be the recipient of this award once during his or her career. The recipient shall be recognized at the Annual Dinner.
Nomination Form for the Honorary Life Award
This award may be given to ETT members who will be retiring, or will have retired to a maximum of one year after retirement from the education profession. The recipient(s) of the Honorary Life Award shall have a $300.00 donation made in their name to a school or accredited charitable organization of the recipient(s) choice. The recipient(s) shall be recognized at the Annual Dinner.
Awards shall:
a) catalogue awards handed out by previous organizations and decide their dispositions;
b) consider and recommend to the ETT Executive the establishment of ETT awards;
c) develop criteria, send out application forms, receive application forms, review application forms, recommend recipients to the Executive for ETT awards and secure a venue for the presentation of these awards.
