STEPS TO A SUCCESSFUL GULUWALK

Location: North York Memorial Community Hall - 5110 Yonge Street
Concourse Level – Gold Room

Last year teachers and over 4000 TDSB students participated in the Student GuluWalk. It was tremendously suc­cessful. The GuluWalk raises awareness of the issues of children caught in a civil war in Northern Uganda and is a natural connection to our classrooms as these children are the same ages as those we teach.

“For children who have never known peace, the fight for hope never ends.”

This workshop precedes the GuluWalk and provides curriculum support for programming linked to character development and social justice issues.  Details for participation of teachers and students in preparation for the April 29, 2010 GuluWalk will also be provided.
