Women in Action - Summer 2010

ETT STATUS OF WOMEN Presents….

Women in Action

Women In Action is a program designed to encourage the active involvement and leadership of ETFO’s women members.

The workshop looks at the structure of ETFO and the opportunities that exist for women’s involvement. It examines styles of leadership focusing on the strengths women bring to an organization. Participants are encouraged to develop strategies to overcome barriers to women’s involvement and to plan activities that meet their needs. Finally, participants review and practise the skills they need to make their voices heard in meetings.

ETFO has adopted principles of promoting and protecting the interests of all members of the federation and of fostering a climate of equity.  The constitution designates positions for women. On an on-going basis, ETFO needs a cadre of capable, confident women leaders who will participate fully in shaping the future of ETFO.  Women in Action provides members who are not experienced with encouragement and opportunities to learn those necessary skills.
