Planet in Focus: Eco-Film Lab and Film Festival

Planet in Focus, Canada’s foremost environmental media arts organization, with support from the ETT Environment Committee, is offering resources to bring environmental film-making into the classroom.

Planet in Focus is hosting to two professional development-oriented film-making workshops for teachers on Thursday, February 9, 2017 and Friday, February 23, 2017.

The workshops will equip attendees with the necessary film production skills to help their students tell an environmental story through film. The student films will then be submitted to the 2017 Planet in Focus Student Film Festival.

Applications to the Eco-Film Lab workshop are due by Wednesday, January 11, 2017.

Planet in Focus Student Film Festival

All TDSB elementary schools can submit their student-made environmental films (under 4 minutes) for consideration to the Planet in Focus Student Film Festival by Friday, May 5, 2017.

Teachers, students, and parents are invited to the red-carpet gala screening of the jury-selected films on Thursday, June 8, 2017.
